Illecillewaet River Aggregate Removal Project (2021)
Twin Valley Contracting delivered a carefully engineered aggregate removal and river restoration project along the Illecillewaet River, addressing significant gravel build-up that had altered natural flow patterns and increased erosion risk. Work was completed across seven sections, with access routes constructed on both riverbanks and materials transported to designated burrow pits. The team used excavators, conveyors, loaders, and rock trucks to safely extract and relocate aggregate while keeping public pathways accessible.
By prioritizing environmental stewardship and rigorous planning, the project minimized disruption to the surrounding ecosystem. Restoration measures, vegetation preservation, and strict safety protocols underscored TVC’s commitment to responsible resource management and high-standard execution.

2023 Historical Landfill Closure & New Waste Facility Construction (Tk’emlúps, B.C.)
This large-scale infrastructure project combined the closure of a historical landfill with the construction of a modern engineered waste management facility. Twin Valley Contracting, in partnership with Smu’we7 Contracting and the Tk’emlúps Forestry Development Corporation, completed extensive earthworks, placed over 17,000 m³ of aggregates, installed 69,000 m² of geotextile and liner systems, and fused 1,200 m of HDPE piping for the new cell, leachate pond, and stormwater systems. The site began accepting materials in late summer 2023 and officially opened in January 2024.
Leveraging 3D dozing, advanced excavation technology, GPS surveying, and precision construction methods, the team delivered a highly efficient, environmentally responsible facility. Additional work included scale installation and cost-saving site improvements, reinforcing TVC’s role in building sustainable, future-focused infrastructure for the region.

Jules Bridge Removal over Adams River (2023)
Twin Valley Contracting, in partnership with the Adams Lake Indian Band, completed the safe removal of the 87.2-metre Jules Bridge, a project requiring extreme environmental sensitivity and precise coordination. The work was executed in two carefully timed stages to protect the Adams River ecosystem, a region known for vital fish habitat. Stage 1 (May 2023) involved dismantling and removing the bridge decking and structural components before spring freshet conditions could sweep debris downstream. Stage 2 (September 2023), scheduled during the low-impact “fish window,” focused on removing 96 creosote-treated piles from the riverbed and restoring all disturbed areas.
Despite wildfire-related access challenges, the project was completed safely and efficiently through close collaboration with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and the Adams Lake Indian Band. The result is a fully restored river channel, free of contaminants and structural hazards, reflecting a shared commitment to smart planning, ecological protection, and responsible infrastructure decommissioning.
